Artist Creates Balloon Dog Sculpture Sold for $58.4Million!

Well it isn't exactly a sculpture made of balloon, but instead a stainless steel sculpture which looks like your typical balloon twisted dog! How cool is that!?

Jeff Koons is an American artist known for his reproductions of banal objects. Such as simple balloon animals produced in stainless steel with mirror-finished surfaces. His works were sold for substantial sums of money, including at least one world record auction price for a work by a living artist. On November 12, 2013, Koons’s Orange balloon dog was sold at Christie's Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale in New York City for US$58.4 million, above its high US$55 million estimate, becoming the most expensive work by a living artist sold at auction.

Here's a glimpse at other noteworthy balloon sculptures by Koons in recent years.
